Of course, the downside of this workaround is that my DNS lookups are no longer being tunneled through to my home Mac and are instead relying on the DNS servers at my office. So, now it looks like the problem may be with how (Leopard's) sshd handles certain DNS lookups.

At this point if I go to use Firefox, it can't get to the Internet. In about a minute or so, I'll see the carriage returns come through and more of the web page will load, but then it'll lock up again.

If I hit enter a bunch of times in Terminal, nothing comes back. If I visit cnn.com, for instance, I get the header and a portion of images, and then it hangs. I can use any other web application including Mail, Firefox, etc without the proxy being an issue. Since upgrading to Leopard, my SSH connection locks up after a few seconds of web surfing with Safari.
